FOA plans to rescue 10 youths from the streets by March 2025 and enroll them in the Norviwo Transformation Pathways Program (NTP). NTP offers weekly therapy sessions for healing from trauma, essential life skills training, and preparation for practical job skills to ensure successful careers. Each youth will be reunited with their family and provided access to health services, safe housing, and healthy meals throughout their four years at FOA. Most importantly, they’ll be welcomed into a loving, supportive family environment where they can rebuild their confidence and hope for the future.

Total cost per youth: $3,500

Project: Future of Africa Bus

Cost: $45,000
Deadline: March 2025

FOA currently spends $30,000 on renting a bus a year. However this bus is not reliable and consistent in meeting our needs of emergency health response, street outreach, inner city errands, school drop offs and pick ups etc. We plan to buy a 20-seater bus to improve the efficiency of our daily programs. This bus will ensure our residents get to the community center on time and be punctual at their training centers. Having a permanent bus will be a game-changer for FOA, especially for our street outreach with university volunteers across Accra. With our own bus, we can expand to two more campuses next year, increasing our volunteers significantly. This means we can reach and support even more street children, giving them the opportunity to receive the help they need.

Total Cost:45,000

Project: Empowering FOA Nairobi

Cost: $15,000
Deadline: March 2025

In 2024, FOA’s vision of African youth collaborating for transformative change took root in Nairobi, Kenya. Inspired by FOA’s work, Mary, a young Kenyan, interned with FOA in Ghana for six months before launching her own street outreach in Nairobi. Over eight months, Mary’s team of seven volunteers has consistently reached 55 street residents every Saturday, serving over 350 meals, reuniting three missing youths with their families, responding to three emergency health incidents, and organizing clothing drives. Most importantly, they’ve gained the trust of street residents, motivating them to continue expanding their outreach. FOA is raising seed funding to support this initiative and build the structures needed for phase two of its model.

FOA aims to equip former street residents with both technical and entrepreneurial skills for life after graduation. Profits from product sales will support FOA’s street outreach efforts.

Total Project Cost: $16,000
  • Equipment costs: $2,500

  • Training supplies and personnel: $3,500

  • Container and renovation costs: $10,000
